No Equal Rights in Islam

Religion exploits both men and women, albeit, women more than men. Hindus used to burn their widows; Taoists would bury their female born, and Bible ordained no priesthood for the women among other inequalities.

Muslims claim that the Koran has given equal rights to women, which is pure whey. There are no equal rights for women in Islam.

First, let us see how the Koran clearly states a man's witness is worthy of two women's:

Two men shall serve as witnesses; if not two men, then a man and two women whose testimony is acceptable to all. (2.282)

Koranic scholars defend this with statements such as, women are emotional and they are more likely to be biased. What else can be more amusing than this medieval logic?

The Koran is unequivocal when it comes to inheritance:

GOD decrees a will for the benefit of your children; the male gets twice the share of the female. (4.11)

When it comes to spousal relationship the Koran gives husbands authority to beat their wives which is delineated in the following verse:

The men are made responsible for the women, and God has endowed them with certain qualities, and made them the bread earners. The righteous women will cheerfully accept this arrangement, since it is God's commandment, and honor their husbands during their absence. If you experience rebellion from the women, you shall first talk to them, then desert them in bed, then you may beat them. If they obey you, you are not permitted to transgress against them. God is Most High, Supreme. (4.34)

Some equal rights!

  1. You are truly right and probably will get more verse on that issue. Hindu have altered that barbaric tradition long time ago but problem is Muslims do not want to be modified through the experience of life and advancement of civilization. I think that is one of the reason of recent clash between different religions.

I hope one day you will write what Al Koran said about other religions.

  2. Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend(to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands) and guard in their husband's absence what Allah orders them to guard(eg their chastity, their husband's property). As to those women on whose part you see ill conduct, admonish them (first),(next) refuse to share their beds,(and last) beat them(lightly if it is useful);but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means(of annoyance).Surely,Allah is Ever Most High,Most Great (4:34)

Brother, may i ask you a simple question, what will you do if you find out that your wife committed adultery in your absence??Will you go n tell her "What u have done is realy a nice thing" or will you beat her??

As you have read in the above verse quoted from Quran,it is very clear that beating is the last solution allah commanded to do, if your women disobeys you to stay away from bad things(like adultery etc).

This verse is not like as you said, here is the complete verse

Allah commands you as regards your children's inheritance : to the male,a portion equal to that of 2 females;if (there are) only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance. If only one,her share is a half. For parents,a sixth share of inheritance to each if the deceased left children;if no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third;if the deceased left brothers(or sisters),the mother has a sixth.(The distribution in all cases is) after the payment of legecies he may have bequeathed or debts. You know not which of them, whether your parents or your children, are nearest to you in benefit;(these fixed shares) are ordained by Allah. And Allah is Ever All-Knower,All-Wise(4:11)
